Network Of Learning (NOL) is the collaboration between the schools in Spøttrup, Lemvig, Skive, Holstebro, Viborg og Herning kommuner (local district authorities) and CVU Midt-Vest.
The idea of the project:
- within a common network, development of new means for teaching and learning for process oriented teaching that integrates IT and media, and also work in network.
- continue development of network between partners mutually and other extern partners.
A dynamic regional website will be developed in order to promote ideas and projects for common didactical and pedagogical development and evaluation of teaching, learning and IT communication.
NOL will be developed within three main fields:
Children and media: Ideas and IT projects will be developed for media narratives, which are inspiration to revision/preparation of media plans for the schools within the 6 districts.
Children and culture: 6 IT and media projects will be developed, presenting cultural phenomena untraditionally, in shape of a process oriented teaching and learning course.
Children as scientists: Ideas for IT projects will be developed for experimenting teaching within natural science, which goes beyond normal limits.
Furthermore, a think tank consisting of IT consultants from the 6 districts, CVU Midt-Vest, Programdatateket, Aalborg University and TV/Midt-Vest will be established. Besides inventing and gathering of ideas for NOL, the local IT consultant keeps up contact with the NOL contact person at the single school.
A NOL contact person is assigned at each school in the district. This person is the most important link of the chain in order to extend and implement the projects of NOL. The contact person both promotes the development of NOL to the school and sums up already existing activities of interest to the project of NOL.
It is desirable that this person is able to encourage other teachers at the school, if they like, to join the projects of NOL in progress, and also other IT projects of interest to NOL in relation to sharing of knowledge and inspiration in the common network among the districts.
The contact person is meant to be ambassador for the NOL project – that is being good at negotiating, encouraging and keeping breadth of view. Also, he/she is supposed to be a committed fiery soul with a burning desire to try out methods and roles, and a desire to see new perspectives in the use of network within teaching.
The NOL contact person is attached to the pedagogical service centre.
