In 2000, the IT project Digital North Denmark was initiated. In connection with this IT project, Aalborg University implements participatory research, which is intended to investigate the IT project’s influence on the region of North Jutland, including business structure, network cooperation between companies and official institutions of knowledge. Furthermore, the impact of the project must be viewed in the light of competence development and the learning region.

Thus, the participatory research is not to be perceived as an evaluation of the IT project. It focuses on gathering of knowledge, spread of knowledge, and also it puts the project into a national as well as international perspective.

Several people connected to E-Learning Lab are attached to the participatory research in relation to Digital North Denmark at Aalborg University.
