The MANICORAL-project (Multimedia And Network In COllaborative Research And Learning) was an international project aiming at designing, developing and implementing a collaborative tool in a group of European researchers. The researchers worked together in an international network of geodesy and geoscience. The project period was Nov. 1995 – Dec. 1997. The project was partly financed by the EU Fourth Frameprogramme, “Telematics for Research”. MANICORAL: Reference nr. RE 1006, Telematics Applications for Research.
Partners in the project were a number of European universities and other research institutions: Copenhagen University (Denmark), Technical University Graz, (Austria), Delft Technical University (Holland), Politechnico di Milano (Italy), Aristotelian University, Thessaloniki (Greece), Roskilde University (Denmark), National Survey and Cadastra, Copenhagen (Denmark), Rutherford Appleton Laboratory (UK), Aalborg University (Denmark), Copenhagen Business School (coordinator) (Denmark).
At Aalborg University work in the project focused mainly on communication, learning and collaboration in the virtual environment created through the CSCW-tool set. Local project leader was Lone Dirckinck-Holmfeld, eLL, and other participants in Aalborg were Ian Semey and Marianne Georgsen, both eLL.
A number of internal reports and documents were produced in the project, some of which are available on line from this site. This is the main purpose of this web page, as some of these publications are referenced in other publications.
