Meet Aparna Purushothaman

My research is basically about ICT for development and my focus is on how using an ICT tool like Internet makes women empowered. Internet is more of a requisite than a luxury in today’s life and the Internet is so widely used in our everyday life that we often tend to take it for granted. The educational sector is one of the fields which has been strongly influenced by the immense growth of Internet. I would like to know how women, especially students from a developing country like India can be empowered through Internet, because studies have shown that women are less intensive users of Internet in developing countries.
